Welcome to Coherence 2026 in Madison, Wisconsin!
The International Workshop on Phase Retrieval and Coherent Scattering is the leading international meeting focused on sharing the latest advances in developing and using coherent scattering methods with X-rays, extreme-ultraviolet light, and electrons recently enabled by advances in source technology. This biannual conference series, started in 2008, attracts researchers from many fields (including physics, chemistry, biology, optics, earth, environmental, planetary sciences, and materials research) who are interested in developing coherence-based methods and their applications. The University of Wisconsin and Argonne National Laboratory will host the 2026 Coherence Workshop along the peaceful shores of Lake Mendota in downtown Madison, Wisconsin from June 21-25, 2026. With the Upgrade of the Advanced Photon Source (APS) now fully completed, the United States Midwest region will start a new chapter in its long history of science with coherent x-rays and electron sources. We invite the worldwide community to join us in Madison and at the APS for this meeting.
