{"id":115,"date":"2022-03-02T03:39:30","date_gmt":"2022-03-02T03:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/conferences.union.wisc.edu\/mmpc\/?page_id=115"},"modified":"2022-12-08T16:21:32","modified_gmt":"2022-12-08T16:21:32","slug":"special-issue-of-infection-immunity","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/conferences.union.wisc.edu\/mmpc\/program\/special-issue-of-infection-immunity\/","title":{"rendered":"Special Issue of Infection &#038; Immunity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There will be a special issue of the ASM Journal <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/journals.asm.org\/journal\/iai\" target=\"_blank\">Infection &amp; Immunity<\/a> that will highlight work presented at the meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hello MMPC attendees,\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>To confirmed speakers and poster presenters at the Midwest Microbial Pathogenesis Conference, I am writing, in consultation with the meeting co-chairs JD Sauer and Mark Mandel, to let you know that I am serving as the Editor for a special series in\u00a0<em>Infection and Immunity<\/em>\u00a0(IAI) focusing on this meeting.<br>\u00a0<br>Speakers and poster presenters at MMPC would have the opportunity to submit original research or a Minireview to IAI related to their meeting presentations. These papers would be part of a special series in IAI. All submissions go through the same\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/journals.asm.org\/journal\/iai\/submission-review-process\" target=\"_blank\">rigorous review process<\/a>\u00a0that is typical of papers in IAI.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>I am proposing a submission deadline of<strong> January 13, 2023<\/strong> (revised deadline). Papers would go through the normal submission and review process (access submission site\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/iai.msubmit.net\/cgi-bin\/main.plex\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>). My average days\u2010to\u2010first\u2010decision (i.e., when you submit until when I send the first decision letter) is 24 days.
