{"id":226,"date":"2023-01-31T02:21:21","date_gmt":"2023-01-31T02:21:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/conferences.union.wisc.edu\/ttf\/?page_id=226"},"modified":"2023-01-31T02:23:29","modified_gmt":"2023-01-31T02:23:29","slug":"code-of-conduct","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/conferences.union.wisc.edu\/ttf\/program-info\/code-of-conduct\/","title":{"rendered":"Code of Conduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Code of Conduct<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>All participants of TTF workshops, including attendees, staff,\u00a0volunteers, and other stakeholders are expected to conduct\u00a0themselves in a professional, inclusive, and welcoming manner\u00a0consistent with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aps.org\/meetings\/policies\/code-conduct.cfm\">APS meeting code of conduct\u00a0<\/a>during the\u00a0meeting.<\/p>\n<p>It is the responsibility of all participants to ensure that TTF\u00a0workshops are free of any form of discrimination, harassment, or\u00a0retaliation in order to foster free and equitable scientific\u00a0discourse.<\/p>\n<p>Concerns or violations should be communicated to meeting\u00a0organizers and\/or executive committee members. Sanctions may\u00a0range from warnings, ejection from the meeting without refund,\u00a0and\/or notifying appropriate authorities.<\/p>\n<p>APS Code of Conduct<\/p>\n<p><strong>Code of Conduct for APS Meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is the policy of the American Physical Society (APS) that all participants, including attendees, vendors, APS staff, volunteers, and all other stakeholders at APS meetings will conduct themselves in a professional manner that is welcoming to all participants and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Participants will treat each other with respect and consideration to create a collegial, inclusive, and professional environment at APS Meetings. Creating a supportive environment to enable scientific discourse at APS meetings is the responsibility of all participants.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will avoid any inappropriate actions or statements based on individual characteristics such as age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, nationality, political affiliation, ability status, educational background, or any other characteristic protected by law. Disruptive or harassing behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment includes but is not limited to inappropriate or intimidating behavior and language, unwelcome jokes or comments, unwanted touching or attention, offensive images, photography without permission, and stalking.<\/p>\n<p>Violations of this code of conduct policy should be reported to meeting organizers, APS staff, or the APS Director of Meetings. Sanctions may range from verbal warning to ejection from the meeting without refund, to notifying appropriate authorities. Retaliation for complaints of inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.
