The BCCE 2026 Program

The program for the Biennial Conference on Chemical Education (BCCE 2026) is designed to support meaningful engagement across research, practice, and professional learning. It includes a wide range of session formats and participation opportunities, allowing attendees to tailor their experience based on interests, roles, and goals. Whether you are attending in person or remotely, the program is structured to support both depth and flexibility—making it possible to engage intensively with a specific topic or to explore broadly across sessions.

The BCCE 2026 Program Includes:

  • Symposia designed to showcase and ignite discussion on the latest developments around specific aspects of chemistry education.
  • Poster sessions supporting extended, interactive discussion
  • Workshops focused on hands-on professional learning and skill development
  • Community conversations designed for dialogue, reflection, and shared problem-solving
  • Birds-of-a-feather sessions to network around and/or discuss a topic of shared interest
  • Exhibits and informal networking spaces for connection beyond formal sessions

Together, these elements support both formal presentations and informal learning.

How the Program is Organized

The BCCE 2026 program is organized along several complementary dimensions:

  • By format: different session types support different kinds of engagement
  • By conference context: sessions align with shared conference themes and contexts
  • By timing: each day balances structured sessions with opportunities for informal connection
  • By mode of participation: in-person and remote sessions are intentionally integrated

These dimensions are designed to help attendees find sessions that align with their interests while also encouraging exploration beyond familiar areas.

Using the Program Effectively

Attendees approach the BCCE program in different ways. You might:

  • Follow a particular theme or topic across multiple sessions
  • Prioritize a session format, such as workshops or posters sessions
  • Balance scheduled sessions with informal conversations and networking
  • Sample sessions across contexts to gain new perspectives

There is no single “right” way to experience the program. The structure is intentionally flexible to support different goals and levels of engagement.
