Thematic Framework

The thematic framework for the 2026 BCCE has two dimensions: Conference Contexts and Intersectional Attributes. Conference Contexts are areas where Chemistry Education has made important contributions AND has the potential to grow and innovate. Intersectional Attributes are more traditional articulations that can be used to define contributions across the Conference Contexts.

Conference Contexts: communities of practice, authentic phenomena, educating for sustainable future, scholarly teaching, fixing systems not people, and integrating technology

Intersectional Attributes: assessment & evaluation, curriculum development, data- and theory-driven insights, learning activities, public engagement, science literacy, professional development, reflecting, and student partners
