Submit an Abstract

Overview

The Biennial Conference on Chemical Education (BCCE) 2026 program is shaped by contributions from the chemistry education community. Abstract submissions provide an opportunity to share chemistry education research, instructional innovations, curricular materials, assessment approaches, and reflective practice related to chemistry teaching and learning. Abstracts are invited for a range of presentation and discussion formats designed to support meaningful exchange across research and practice.

What is an abstract?

An abstract is a concise description of a proposed contribution to the BCCE 2026 program that explains what you want to share about chemistry teaching and learning, why it matters, and what participants will gain from engaging with it.

Strong abstracts clearly communicate:

  • the educational context (e.g., course level, instructional setting, learner population)
  • the central idea, question, or problem being addressed
  • the evidence, experience, or perspective informing the work (such as research, classroom implementation, curriculum design, or reflective practice)
  • the alignment with the intended session type, such a specific symposium or a broader Conference Context (for birds-of-a-feather sessions and poster presentations)

Abstracts may describe chemistry education research, instructional innovations, curriculum or assessment design, equity-focused practices, professional learning initiatives, or reflective analyses of teaching and learning. Contributions may represent completed work, work in progress, or practice-based insights, depending on the presentation format.
