COVID-19 Responsibility

The conference planning committee is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment in which to learn. Please consider the following:

Masks are not mandated in an indoor setting. However, we strongly encourage participants to wear masks throughout the event. Masks are available at registration, as well as Langdon & Park Street entrances of the Wisconsin Union.

We recommend that all participants screen themselves daily for symptoms. The conference will provide up to 2 antigen tests per conference registration. Antigen tests may be picked up at registration.

We encourage attendees who wish to physically distance themselves to do so. All breaks and meals have easy access to outdoor space. Attendees may choose to eat their meals outside or throughout the public spaces in the building, however.

More information can be found by visiting the conference policy at https://conferences.union.wisc.edu/microbes/covid-19-responsibility/

Reproductive Health

The recent Dobbs decision by the Supreme Court has impacted specific reproductive health procedures in the state of Wisconsin due to a pre-existing 1849 law that is currently under review and additional litigation. Up-to-date information can be found through the resources listed below. This is currently not impacting medications such as Plan B, nor miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy care. In addition, abortion remains legal in the neighboring states of Minnesota and Illinois, which are within a 1-3 hr drive from Madison.  https://www.uhs.wisc.edu/gynecology/pregnancy-resources/
