The workshop will focus on science communication for the public, which is an important skill that is often not addressed adequately in the education of wildlife health professionals.
The workshop will be taught by three individuals who currently work or recently worked in science communication as well as one student who is finishing her degree in science journalism. The following topics will be covered:
- Television, radio, blog platforms
- Print media
- Social media platforms
- Communications with program managers, local, jurisdictional, and federal officials
